Coaching

I offer comprehensive, cross-curricular, “backward design” support to individuals and organizations in designing high-quality, standards-aligned, and engaging curricula across all content areas, including English, science, mathematics, and social studies. I provide individualized training through one-on-one mentoring, classroom instruction demonstration, and professional development workshops to ensure that teachers develop and refine their skills as educators over a sustained period.

We provide customized coaching in Adult Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) for school-based teams or individual staff members to support students’ social-emotional development and provide students with the tools they need to succeed. Through research-based strategies such as mindfulness practice and cognitive behavioral interventions, we help K-12 schools build stronger school cultures and create safer environments where students can learn and teachers can bring their full selves to their practice. My work with youth can help strengthen school culture and improve the quality of teaching and learning at your school.

I provide training and workshops that challenge our thinking and support new school systems. I work with school and district leaders to help them focus their energy on developing high-quality teachers and leading high-performing schools. I provide on-site coaching and mentoring to principals to help them develop the skills necessary to lead their schools.

I strive to ensure classrooms and schools include students' lived experiences. In addition to teaching cultural aspects relevant to the curriculum, I help educators understand their role within their communities and the world.

I work directly with families and school communities to develop strong, trusting relationships between teachers, families, and their communities, and to recognize, respect, and support families' needs, as well as to acknowledge and respect differences and build a strength-based partnership that shares decision making and responsibility.

A life-long love and commitment to Black people and African ancestry, the Cultivating Black Excellence series is a series of workshops, conversations, and curriculum engagements specifically designed to amplify Black excellence in your community and schools. I provide a variety of training and consultation services designed to strengthen the capacity of schools and other organizations to better support Black student success.
